  Hi there,

  I work for a music venue and we are currently have a Squarespace website, which unfortunately does not integrate with Ticketweb. I am considering moving things over to WordPress but want to build out a test site first. Is there a recommended way to do that? Should I pay for a personal monthly subscription so I can build out a test website and then if all goes to plan can I copy over that build and transfer my Squarespace domain? Any advice would be appreciated!

  Hi there, you can get your site set up here before switching your domain over. :)

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com or *.wpcomstaging.com depending on your plan) that you can use to start building your new site.

  Here’s a guide that will help you migrate your site to WordPress.com from Squarespace: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-from-squarespace/

  Note that you will need a paid plan, any paid plan, when you want to connect or transfer your domain to the site: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Great, thank you for the incredibly quick reply. I plan on creating a monthly personal account to create a test site and then if all goes well I will create an annual business plan. Thanks again!
