  WordPress.com encrypts all possible traffic, including custom domains hosted on WordPress.com. If you have a custom domain on WordPress.com, it’s secure using a SSL certificate from the Let’s Encrypt Certificate Authority.

  Maybe you on selfhost, try using cloudflare.com to get free ssl
