SSL certificate mismatch

  My website is getting a security warning in Firefox. SSL_IDMISMATCH
  How do I resolve this?

  Website is getmarriedonpei.ca and .com

  The site is hosted with wordpress.com but the domain is registered to godaddy and forwarded to the wordpress address.

  It’s not a new site but it looks like maybe there was an update to the certificate recently?

  This seems to be the issue:
  Your SSL certificate does not match your domain name!
  Protected Domains:

  shortener.secureserver.net
  http://www.shortener.secureserver.net

  I haven’t changed anything so I’m not sure how to fix it. However, when it was set up I didn’t bother adjusting the nameservers as it was working with just the forwarding option. If I update those to
  ns1.wordpress.com
  ns2.wordpress.com
  ns3.wordpress.com
  would that solve the issue? (I’m nervous to change something that I can’t then unfix.)

  Hm, so I can see that both domains are using our A records but there is no active mapping subscription so it will not work correctly and you will not have our SSL.

  To map a domain to your WordPress.com site, you’ll want to purchase one of our paid plans and follow these steps:

  But this has been mapping properly for 5 years… What’s changed?

  According to whynopadlock.com, the following is my certificate:
  SSL Certificate Info

  Certificate Issuer
  Starfield Technologies, Inc.
  Certificate Type
  Starfield Secure Certificate Authority – G2
  Issued On
  2020-07-15

  This is not something I actively placed on my site so I’m not sure where it came from.

  I am not sure what has changed from the past, but I am almost positive that the issue stems from the fact that you have not set up Domain Mapping for those URLs. Forwarding/redirecting a domain as you have done for these sites is likely to cause SSL mismatches such as the ones you are seeing.

  Domain mapping via nameservers or IP addresses is the only officially supported method of using a custom domain with a WordPress.com site.
