SSL certificate pending

Long time user of self-hosted WordPress, this is my first client site on WP.com.

I updated the domain nameservers (and the change propagated). The domain shows as Active on WP.com but it still shows that “SSL certificate is pending” and I occasionally get an error that Jetpack is inaccessible because of the lack of SSL.

Having used Let’s Encrypt extensively, it usually only takes a few minutes to issue a certificate but it’s been over 24 hours.

Is there a way to see what’s holding up the certificate issue? Also, I tried contacting support by email but the “Continue” button is grayed out.

  • Hi there,

I do not see any domain connection upgrades under your WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

Is it possible you made your purchase under a different login? What is the URL of the site associated with the upgrade you are needing help with? Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

  • @ericdu — I was just looking through SSL requests and wanted to follow up on this. Were you able to sort this out, and if not, can you share a link to the site? Usually you’ll get an SSL certificate shortly after the site is pointed here.
