SSL certificate pending for over an hour

Hi,
Is it normal for SSL cert issuance to be pending for over an hour? We’re trying to migrate our sales lander site to WordPress hosted and we’re getting SSL cert errors because of this.
My understanding is that I shouldn’t revert and point the DNS back to our previous lander site while we wait because DNS A records need to point to WP servers in order for the SSL cert to be issued.
Our website is effectively broken with live traffic pointed to it. Can we get some help with this?
