SSL certification

I’m trying to make our site secure so we can set up a Woocommerce shop linked to our book shop stock data. Do I need to install/purchase something through WordPress or a 3rd party plugin? Or should this already be equipped (as indicated on a help forum: ‘We encrypt all domains that are registered and connected to a WordPress.com website with an SSL certificate’). Or is this something we need to speak to our hosting service about? Thanks in advance for your help.

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
‘We encrypt all domains that are registered and connected to a WordPress.com website with an SSL certificate’
While this is true for all WordPress.com accounts, your site is using the open source version of the WordPress.org software with another hosting provider.
So you can either ask for help in the correct forum
Or also ask for help to your hosting provider.

Here’s some more about the difference in WordPress.com and .org:

    Good luck!

Hi, thank you for the advice! If it didn’t come across obviously enough, I’m a complete newbie and was unaware of that distinction. Thank you very much for your help :)

    No worries,
I’m also learning all the time I’m sure you’ll find help in the other forum and good luck!!
