ssl error/warning message on link from YouTube
-
I’m trying to add a link to my wordpress.com-hosted blog (www.thepracticeofpractice.com) from my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/jharnum/featured). I get an ssl error message/warning saying that the link goes to *.wordpress.com (I understand why the variable symbol is there) and advises users not to continue.
I’ve tried both the address above and http://www.thepracticeofpractice.wordpress.com and get the same error.
Can’t find anything in the help files or online elsewhere. Is there a way around this? As I have 2K subscribers, it’s a source of a lot of traffic and I’d like to fix it if possible. Thanks for the help!

Hey Jon!
This only occurs if you try to use the https version of your domain. I’m not encountering the error when I use the following variations:
http://thepracticeofpractice.com
http://www.thepracticeofpractice.com
When you attempt to use the HTTPS version, basically, the browser is looking for a certificate from thepracticeofpractice.com. Instead, it sees a certificate from your default WordPress.com address (thepracticeofpractice.wordpress.com). The mismatch triggers an error.
Unfortunately, it isn’t possible for us to issue a certificate that makes it possible for visitors to view your site over an HTTPS connection without first setting up an exception. However, nearly all visitors will be using the HTTP prefix.
Can you let me know if you experience an issue with the two URL variations above?

Ach! Thanks, Jeremy. What a rookie mistake. I should’ve caught that. Thanks for the help. Works great!
