SSL for sub domain

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I’ve recently added 2 sub domains to my domain upwindsports.com. I can’t figure out how to get SSL certificates for them so that that don’t show as not secure. They are crescent.upwindsports.com. And pearl.upwindsports.com those 2 weather scraper web apps are hosted at pythonanywhere.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi there,

To secure your subdomain, you’ll need to set up SSL certificates at the provider where you’re hosting those apps. Please contact that provider’s support directly for help with their process for doing this.

The SSL certificate we’ve issued for your domain on our end only covers subdomains that you also host with us. But even though your domain is registered with us, and the root is hosted with us, we have no control over any subdomains that you create and point to another provider :)

Thanks so much for that direction! I will follow up with pythonanywhere now.
    Have a great day!

  • Glad I could help :)
