SSL for wordpress .com site – missing for mine?
-
I saw in the knowledgebase that SSL is automatically installed on .com sites. However, my site adjust.ie does not appear to have it. Can you help me in resolving this?

Your domain isn’t registered with wordpress.com that’s why the SSL is missing. You must contact your registrar to solve this problem.

Hi staartmees – many thanks for you reply. And I apologise for the lengthy delay between my reponses.
I though that if I pointed the nameservers to the wordpress site that was what I must do. Are you telling me that since I didn’t purchase my domain from wordpress I cannot use the SSL cert that wordpress offers?
thanks again for the help.

Are you saying you no longer wish your site to be hosted by Reg365? If you wish to build a site here at WordPress.com instead then a paid plan will enable you to map/transfer your domain to a wordpress.com site and then the domain would show as secure with a padlock on wordpress.com servers.

If you wish to stay where you are then you’d approach your host concerning SSL. -
Thanks for the cllarification themagicrobot. Currently the site is hosted on wordpress.com. However, at the domain we’ve got a redirect to the wordpress.com site. Hence the reason that the SSL doesn’t work. I now understand that we need to purchase something somewhere to get this working properly. Apologies – I am much more familiar with self hosted WP so was having trouble understanding the structure on the .com side.
Thanks for the clarification.
