Staff assistance needed: transfer of WordPress.com followers to WordPress.org
-
I would like assistance to transfer my blog followers (WordPress and email) from my WordPress.com hosted blog (buridansblog.wordpress.com) to my WordPress.org hosted blog (www.buridansblog.com), to which I have upgraded.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

JetPack installed. What about the WordPress.com followers? Will I need to contact them individually to advise them of the change?

This thread is flagged for Staff attention. Followers who are using the WordPress.com Reader to receive your posts are not transferable. You can set your .wordpress.com blog to display only one post on the front page of the blog. Then publish a post to inform those using the WordPress.com Reader of the move as well as providing them with a link to the new site.

Thanks so much. I will do exactly that.
With all the requests to do this, I suggest that it be automated, including some way to transfer WordPress.com Reader followers.

WordPress.com is a blogging community with in-house social networking features available only to those who are members of that community. There is no wordpress.org community. WordPress.org installs are stand alone islands. The WordPress.com Reader does not yet support non-WordPress.com blogs. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/migrating-my-followers-from-com-to-org-1?replies=22#post-923175

I have transferred your subscribers as requested.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
