Staff closing topics and WP saying, “still allow you to reply”
-
“This topic is marked as closed to new replies, however your posting capabilities still allow you to reply.” https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/where-has-my-stats-page-gone/?view=all
This is not correct in my experience! I cannot reply – I did try and was not allowed to comment!

“I understand!
If you prefer other stats tools, that’s also a good alternative. With an active Personal or Premium plan you can also use Google Analytics through a plugin like Site Kit.
If you’d like to check our current offering, please check the main pricing page here:

I’m going to mark this as solved for now, but feel free to reach out if you need further guidance.”
You shut down a simple and very useful Stats pages and then suggest we pay to get them back. Sorry, but that kind of behaviour alienates me. Shame on you WP!
…and it took 21 days to get a response from WP staff! I defnitely would not pay for that kind of poor customer support/service!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @maddogtvdinners,
I understand your frustration. Let me clarify a few things:
About closed topics: When staff marks a topic as “solved” and closes it, the message can be confusing. If you still have questions, you can:
- Create a new topic with your specific issue
- Reference the old thread if needed
About Stats: The basic stats page should still be available on free plans at: https://wordpress.com/stats/
If your stats disappeared or changed, that’s a separate technical issue that needs looking into.
About response time: I’m a volunteer, not staff. The 21-day response time isn’t typical, but forums can get busy. For faster support, paid plans get priority help via live chat.
If you’re still missing stats: Create a new topic explaining exactly what stats features you’re missing, and I or other volunteers can help troubleshoot.
I can’t speak for staff decisions, but I’m here to help if you have a technical issue!

@mukeshoadcom thank you for yor response.
Having reviewed all the “new” Stats pages, I will not be returning to them. They are dreadful beyond belief! How did WP take a simple, easy to read and pleasing to the eye, Stats page and turn it into multiple ugly and offensive to the eye, pages?
I’ve had a blog on WordPress for 15 years with a reasonable amount of traffic. Several weeks ago, WordPress threw me under a bus. I can no longer, easily, see which posts are being looked at on a daily basis and I can’t see how many people looked at my blog, day to day over the course of a month. The “classic”Stats were elegant and useful, whereas the “new” Stats are ugly and relatively useless (to me). Where’s my incentive to pay WordPress for more rubbish, or stay with them? I’m seriously thinking about giving up blogging!

Thank you for getting back to us, @maddogtvdinners.
Please resit assured that your feedback will reach the relevant team.
As my colleague explained, this is a change that will not be deprecated as the team has been implementing this gradually on WordPress WordPress.com websites.

I would really like to hear more about this. Could you let me know exactly what it is about the current page you find so displeasing?
Being specific about the feedback provided will help with making the team understand it more easily.I can no longer, easily, see which posts are being looked at on a daily basis and I can’t see how many people looked at my blog, day to day over the course of a month.
This information was not removed and is available to consult.
We even have more details and insights to check.
I recorded a short video on one of my personal websites (you’ll notice that it has been offline in the past few months), but it shows how to check the details for each day.I hope it helps, but let me know if there is still any information that you need that isn’t displayed by our stats.

@staff-porcupine thank you for your response.
You all keep asking me me for more information, but you don’t seem to be digesting what I’ve already written. The old stats page was elegant, well laid out and showed me everything I wanted to see at a glance. The new stats page does not do that and is very unpleasant to look at. Frankly it looks like it was “designed” by a planner, as opposed to a graphic designer.
Please do not send me any more links relative to how great you think the new stats page is. As I have already said, it’s ugly, relatively useless and I won’t be using it!

Thank you very much.
I’ll add all those details to the feedback I already shared with the team.

Allow me to clarify that my links were just an effort to show you how to see the same level of information in the new dashboard. I know it is not your ideal tool, but at least with that knowledge you will still be able to obtain the same useful information.

@staff-porcupine thanks again.
As I said, I will not be using the stats pages in future! They are bad beyond belief.
