staging: clone a copy to a wordpresss subdomain

    Hi, I would like to ask if we can clone an existing copy of our wordpress to a subdomain for testing purposes before we roll out updates for the wordpress business plan. Thank you

    Can you please let me know your site’s address as the only site I’m seeing under your account has no content and it’s not on the Business plan.

    Hi, my site is currently not hosted on wordpress.com. I’m considering to move over but would like to find out whether it’s possible to stage on a subdomain before shifting over.

    I’m aware that only business plan and above can install third party plugins and themes, but currently i cannot find more information on staging, though there’s the advice to put the site into maintenance mode during upgrading

    Hi @wpfmpo, you certainly can use a subdomain with the site for staging, then contact staff when you need to make adjustments to the domain.

    Can you let us know which cloning plugin you’d plan to use? I work in these forums for free users but I seem to recall one of them having issues with our business plan. We can check on that for you.

    Or, you’d be welcome to just sign up for the plan and give it a try. If you aren’t happy with it, you’ve got 30 days for a refund.
