Staging site stuck at synchronization to production
-
Alright, long story short
1. I messed with functions.php on live site
2. Site gives critical error message. Can’t access.
3. FTP wouldn’t let me replace.
4. Started sync from stage to production
5. FTP suddenly works– I swap files. All’s good on production side, but the sync is stuck at ~90% completion. (Going on 24hrs)
I’ve tried
1. Troubleshooting mode
2. Theme and plugin swap/deactivation
3. to restore backup to stagingRestore backup via WPvivid now has me locked out of jetpack on staging. Can’t access anything on staging side. — Still shows synchronization in progress. Reconnecting Jetpack leads me to a login that recognizes none of my logins and ‘forgot my’ ends in a 404 page with a staging site address.
Delete staging site unavailable due to mid-sync status.
Is there a way to just delete the staging site and start fresh??? I’m cool with just a clean install on the staging side. Will changing my host (and therefore issuing a new staging environment after migration) resolve this? I’m worried the staging site is going to push its broken ass over to the production site.
Not super comfortable on the backend side of things, but might be worth noting
~/wordpress/ and ~/htdocs/_wp_ won’t mount via FTP
and ~/homedir/wordpress/ is emptyNew to this and really appreciate any help.

Jetpack no longer connected to production site.
wp admin access now reads, “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
No email… I didn’t change anything, so hopefully support?

Site still down. Losing more and more access by the minute. I have a backup. Should I just start over? Debug info
