Staging site taken by website designer without permission

Hi everyone- I had a website designer who out of revenge has done something to the staging website and now all my plugins are failing to upload. I have tried to recover the password but he has done something to not allow me. What can I do!? This is so bad and unprofessional.

Is it possible you created your site under a different login with us or are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

This site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. This is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
