Staging Site Updating from Live and Rolling to Production

    Hi there,

    I’ve been working on a website update for a friend and we bought a template, spun up a staging site on WP staging pro and have been installing the template, editing the website design and updating a few things like adding pages on the staging site etc for about a month now. There is now a load of new content on the live site, (posts and comments in the main,) but we have also done a bit of work in live to update the use of categories on the posts. I want to update the staging site with these updates so as to be able to finish the updates on staging, but have reached the limit of my knowledge now as what I need to do is answer the following questions to proceed (ideally with some help)

    1) The post categories and content updates on live (and other things like media) on the LIVE site need to be exported from live and imported into staging to update the staging site? Is this right? How would you achieve this without exporting things like themes and design etc?
