Staging to production

  Hi,

  What is the recommended way to setup a deployment topology where a developer will create customized themes, page layouts, etc and then push it to a production site once QA approve the changes in staging site?

  I am open to use paid plug-ins. Planning to use “Business” hosting on wordpress.com

  Hi there,

  Due to the way WordPress.com sites work it’s not possible to deploy from a staging site to a WordPress.com site – we do not provide a staging environment, and we also don’t provide FTP access so you won’t be able to upload from a local installation either.

  The closest you can get to that with us is to have two sites, and then using a migration plugin to sync from the “Staging” one to the live one, but in this case both sites would need to be on the Business Plan, and migration plugins also don’t work perfectly on WordPress.com sites due to our somewhat unique setup.

  So if you need to use that type of flow, I don’t think WordPress.com is the best place for you to host your site. You can see some options for other WordPress hosting providers here:
