standing up a first-time effort webpage via WordPress

  I am a teacher with a website on an outdated platform. I want to use WordPress as my new platform but am having no luck in understanding how to setup. Pretty basic question but am not able to make progress using the various help menus in WordPress.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Have you tried going through:

  http://learn.wordpress.com/ and

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/ ?

  WordPress is easy to use, but like anything new it can be a bit intimidating, while it is easy to use it takes a while to get used to it
