Start a new Blog

  I want to set up a new blog that is available only to people I add myself. I can’t find where to do this.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello!

  The Privacy setting controls who can view your site, allowing you to make the site private or public. To access this setting, go to My Site → click Settings (all the way down near the bottom of the left toolbar) and look for Privacy (2/3 of the way down the General settings tab.)

  In order to make it so only people you add can view it, you will want to choose the ‘Private’ setting. You can read more about it here:

  Thanks! After I sent the note, I stumbled into the way to create a new blog and discovered the privacy settings.

  Is there a way to set it up so that the blog will email registered users when a new post is added?

  Great, glad you got it figured out!

  When a new user follows your blog, they can choose how they would like to be notified. The default setting is that it will show in the Reader when they are logged into WordPress.com, but they can also choose to receive emails for new posts and new comments by clicking the ‘Manage’ button next to ‘Followed Sites’ and setting notifications for each of the sites they follow.
