start a wordpress premium plan

    i already own a domain and a WordPress site. Need to change the plan to e-commerce. Kindly suggest what option to select:
    1.Transfer your domain away from your current registrar
    or
    2.Map your domain without moving it from your current registrar

    Hi there,

    Either option will work, and give your site a custom address (instead of the WordPress.com address we assign) so typically I recommend transferring your domain, as this will move the domain over to WordPress.com, and consolidate all billing and renewals here under one roof.

    Also all our plans (including the eCommerce Plan) include a free domain transfer so there is no charge to move the domain. Your domain will be renewed automatically for another year upon completion of a successful transfer as well, so you get an extra year of domain service for free before you need to renew.
