  I’m trying to change to new theme but the widgets are not showing up where I want (or where they should be) and I suspect that I should start over.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  I don’t see you’ve added any widgets to your site. As per demo of Apostrophe 2 theme, there are 2 widget areas. One is to the right side and other at the bottom.
  To the right there are 3 areas Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. At the bottom you have Footer Sidebar for widgets.

  If you wish to have widgets in areas apart from what is mentioned above then you need to switch to a different theme. Where do you wish to have widgets?

  Consult your theme description page at https://wordpress.com/theme/apostrophe-2 and scroll down to Sidebar Widgets

  Hi @pauloeaquino, thanks for the suggestion, I’ve tried with the post but the instruction was hard to follow. I did manage to remove some of my content but my problem remains.

  @Krutidugade, thanks for looking into it! I switched to Apostrophe 2 as an attempt to pinpoint my problem, aka if it is the content at fault. And turns out that when I try to activate the sidebar on the right, it stays at the bottom, which makes my case. Now that I’m trying with twenty sixteen and it works, however, I would like to show only the most recent post on the first page, how do I do that?
