  Hi!

  I want to use WordPress to build a website. There is a domain name in use already, but I am not sure what the best way is to create a website. What are the options to start creating a website using the current domain. Is it best to map my domain and if yes, what exactly happens when mapping? Are backups still on my domain?

  If you have already purchased the domain name elsewhere, you can connect it to your wordpress.com account by mapping it. Learn more by visiting https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain.
  However, it’s tied to a plan at $4 a month

  WordPress.com Personal $48
  Plan Subscription: $4 per month × 12
