started a wordpress import on Tuesday. wasn't very large (12Mb) … still cranking on thursday

  1. Is the site you have the XML export file from still online?
  2. If yes, what is the URL?
  3. Did you receive any error messages? If so, post them here please.

  Sometimes the importer gets stuck. If the XML export file is large you may have to import Posts, Pages, etc. in separate files. Or if the XML export file is very large Staff may have to do the import.

  Hi there,

  That import appears to have gotten stuck.

  I’ve reset the importer, so you should be able now to try again.

  Are you importing from another WordPress.com site or a self-hosted site? Something that can sometimes cause an import to get stuck is if there’s a large number of spam or low-quality comments on a site. Please check through past comments and delete any that you think fit this description, and then create a new export file.

  Another option is to try splitting the file into two or three smaller ones:
