  I just need come clarification. we have our email hosted thought someone local, who also holds our domain name. I am going to set up and manage our website. I dont want to mess anything up with them, so I just need to subscribe to the $48/year plan and I can remove the domain connection, because we do that through the company we use for our email and such. Am I correct?

  Hi @montbldg! You will still need the domain connection.

  But, before you point the domain to “ns1.wordpress.com” and so on, we can help you set up your email so it will continue working as before.

  Can you reply here once you’ve got the connection added? We’ll add the right mail records for you.

  Clarifying: we’d be setting it up so your mail points to your current provider. It just requires a few settings on our side before you complete that final step with the domain.

  Then the domain itself, and the email, will remain there. The DNS, site hosting, and WordPress support will be here.
