Starting a free site after I log in
-
I log in, I have no site.I am asked if I want to create a site, yes I say. I pick a theme, I choose a domain name, ‘chrisd.wordpress.com, Then I am asked for a site name, I give a site name, then I choose free, then I am redirected back to choose a site name, that is as far as I get, this happens over and over until I give up and try again another day, what am I doing wrong, please help me, they say it is simple to start a free site, what am I not doing right, thanks

Hi There,
When I went to “chrisd.wordpress.com”, it is actually displaying a site. If this isn’t something you created, that could be the problem. I am assuming it is already taken and you will have to choose something different. It should give you an error message though informing you of this, but nothing comes up, it just reroutes you?
Thanks -

Hello, I like your Blog, by the way I was born on Friday the 13th, 13 is my lucky number too

Hey Chris!
Have you tried using a different browser, just to make sure it’s not a browser issue? Give Chrome or Internet Explorer a try to see if that browser allows you to complete registration.
Does your site have anything to do with archery, by chance? I’m wondering if perhaps the registration actually went through but the page didn’t notify you properly.
If neither of these things help, could you take a screenshot *after* choosing “free” and being redirected back?

Hello, thanks for reply, I have an account with Word press, and I have no sites, not archery or anything. I follow each step, and every time I pick a site name I get sent back to pick a site name, over and over, that is all that happens. I tried a different browser and same thing happens with that one, very strange, still no site
-
That is definitely strange! Could we see a screenshot of what the screen looks like when you get sent back to pick a site name?
Also, when you hover over “My Sites” at the top left of the page, what does it say above “Publish” and below “My Sites”?
-
Hello, when I hover over the my sites it say show a list of my sites, which I don’t have any, I think I will just pass on WordPress because I am finding it quite annoying and a big waste of time, too bad, because I liked using their sites. I find they have very little help other than these forums, which I appreciate your help and others, but you can only do so much,I think there is a problem with my account and so be it, life goes on. If I could talk to a representative on the phone that would be better, but they don’t have that. Maybe something might come up or not, I will continue using Google Blogs, they work well.
