starting a website

This is not for community! How do I just get help from staff at wordpress about a technical question for which I wish to pay wordpress for a website? Why am I discussing it with the ‘community’ when I need support from wordpress? I want to buy a website but find every time I wish to discuss it with an employee I am on some sort of public forum! Nuts.

There are no websites for sale here. All blogs are free of charge and hosted free of charge.

A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. A website is a page based site designed to operate as a one way means of communication ie. a noticeboard.
blog = site with post based structure

You can use any theme here at WordPress.com to create a page based structure ie. a website rather than a post based structure ie. a blog.
On one hand, none of the characteristic “blog” features like categories, tags, authors, dates, etc. can be removed from a free hosted WordPress.com blog, without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.

This is a peer support forum where Volunteers and Staff work cooperatively to deliver WordPress.com support. There is no phone support here and we Volunteers do not provide support by email.
Volunteers answer most questions posted into forum threads and Staff monitor. When Volunteers cannot provide the required support we flag threads for Staff attention.

The presumption the raincoaster and I who have both been here for over 7 years ie. years longer than most WordPress.com Staff have even been on Staff and that we don’t have correct answers is erroneous.
