  I have managed to delete posts and drafts, but would like to delete my ‘home’ page and start again/

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  I found this page about creating an empty site on WordPress.com: https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

  Here are the steps it outlines on that page (links on how to do each are on the empty-site page):

  • Delete all posts
  • Delete all pages
  • Delete all categories
  • Delete all tags
  • Delete all media

  The other option is to create a new WordPress.com site with a new site name.

  Thank you, I am very new to this. I have managed some of the steps you suggested but my site is still not empty. Could this be because I published the material I am trying to delete?

  Hi again!

  When you say your site is not empty, what remains? If you go to the site I linked to https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/ it has links to other pages that tell how to do each of those items – deleting posts, pages, categories, tags, and media.

  Have you deleted all of those items?

  If shouldn’t matter that you’ve published things you’re trying to delete, you should still be able to delete them.

  However, before continuing to delete anything, make sure you’ve backed up all of your content. I don’t want you to delete anything you might want to keep.

  it’s the very first I made when just setting up the blog. It includes a photograph that I would like to heads up each new post along with the title.

  I have in fact started a new site – this seemed to be the easiest way.

  Can you help by explaining the difference between a page and a blog post and when I might use each of these?
