I built my site before using Netidnow ( a web template co) I am trying to create a replacement site with wordpress so my pages size correctly. Once built, I will use old domain from site ( in circulation over a decade) Will it be possible to built it under the temporary assigned name wordpress gave me then switch it to the live domain I have once completed? And everything on your building template indicates this is for blogs. Where do I go for website templates or is this the same thing? Just trying to start off on the right foot. thanks (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi,
Yes, it is absolutely possible for you to build your site on WordPress.com and then map your existing domain. Please refer to the following support page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Make sure to set the primary domain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#setting-the-primary-domainIf you want to build a site, set the front page to use a static page you create: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Then, simply don’t use the Posts functionality – just stick to Pages.Happy blogging!
