Starting out/deleting Help

Add topic to favorites
I’m want to maybe delete one of my sites. They are both called keuhn nutrition but one has blog on the name. I just want one site right now.
Also, when I started an account I said I wanted a blog site, but I just want a plain main site.
What do I need to do to make these things happen?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,

To delete a site, go to Tools -> Delete Blog in your Dashboard. Just be aware that if you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address.

Yeah, I saw that and I think I need an admin of this site to look at my account. I’m confused as to why one of them has the blog attached to the url and the other does not. The theme options I get both look like blogs. I set up my account saying I wanted a blog but now I don’t. I want to get rid of site links that I don’t need but not get rid of my keuhnnutrition site name.

Hi,

Actually, there is not much difference between a blog and a website. The main difference is that a website uses a static home page. You can easily tweak your site’s settings by following the steps in the guide I mentioned earlier.

For your other issue, I am adding the tag “modlook” to this thread to alert staff to look at your account.

Hi there,

https://keuhnnutrition.wordpress.com/ and https://keuhnnutritionblog.wordpress.com/ are your sites’ addresses. The “blog” in the second address does not mean that site can only be a blog. Our system added that automatically because you can’t have two sites with the exact same address, but there is no difference at all in terms of how those two sites work.

To delete a site, follow the instructions staff-frank gave you:

Go to My Sites ->Switch Site, and select the site you want to delete. Then click on Settings and select the Delete Site option at the bottom of the page.

Can I delete the blog url and be able to keep the keuhnutrition name for my 1st website? It says if I delete something it will be gone forever and I don’t want that.

Hi,

Since you have two sites, deleting one of those sites will not affect the other. Just choose the one that you want to delete, delete it, and you will still have ownership of the other one.

Whichever blog you choose to delete is the one that you will not be able to get back and no one else will be able to use that blog address.

Just make very sure that you delete the correct site. As staff-frank said above, the one you delete will be gone for good, but the other site will still be there.
