Starting over

  I need to take down my website. I went to the settings within my WordPress page, and saw that I can “start over”, which would delete all my content, but keep the site active. How do I do that? Please advise.

  If you want to retain the blog URL (note that no deleted URL can be registered again). https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ and you are willing to wait rather than doing this yourself http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/ then Staff can empty the whole blog for you. That will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files and once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

  If you are sure you want Staff to proceed, and you are prepared to wait then type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread for Staff attention and post again into this thread to:

  (1) confirm the URL of the blog you want them to empty;
  (2) confirm that you know content deletion is irreversible.

  IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content does not remove it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663419?hl=en

  the url is http://www.spoilyourfamilyhealthy.com, and I understand that content deletion is irreversible.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for confirming your request — I just emptied the content from your site at spoilyourfamilyhealthy.com (spoilyourfamilyhealthy.wordpress.com), so you’re all set there.

  That process doesn’t remove your site’s Widgets (the content in the site’s sidebar), so if you’d like you can remove those by going to the Widgets section in your site’s Customizer.

  Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
