starting over

    I wanted to host my own site on my new WD ex2 ultra Nas.1 I used to try to build a site about my family tree using Family Tree Pro but can’t find it anymore. I want to try to build another on my aforementioned NAS which has the WP app installed and I attempted to use it but need to start over. should I delete the failed attempt?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Was the previous site built with WordPress.com or on a standalone WordPress installation with separate hosting?

    Here is the wordpress site I was working on! I have attached a zip-file and I have a blog-vault saved file of my site that I saved also. I would love to pick up where I left off working on this site! I bought the “gilmersrus” domain name and was praying I wouldn’t have to start all over! Can you help me?

    Where did the export come from? hdavis00.wordpress.com?

    What site are you trying to import the file on to?

    You won’t need to start over on the site once we figure out where this file is coming from and going to.

    There aren’t any domains connected to this account either. Did you buy that through us or with another provider? If you aren’t sure, just share the domain here and we can look it up.

    Hello Liz,
    That’s good news if I don’t have to start over! The exported file came from a site I was working on for a long time-‘gilmersrus.com’,! I think I bought the domain thru WordPress and I remember purchasing ‘Weebly’ editor to help me develop the site.

    The site was a family tree site so I purchased ‘Family Tree Pro’ to use to help organise the large family. I purchased and used ‘Blog Vault’ for backups and here is a downloaded back-up from blog vault in this attachment. I purchased the domain, ‘gilmersrus.com’ again to use.

    I want to thank-you for taking the time and making an effort to help me as I am an amateur trying to help my family!!
    I used ‘IPOWER’ to build site!

    Ah okay, unfortunately we wouldn’t have backups for IPOWER, as we are a separate host. If you were trying to transfer content off of a site on our servers it would be no problem.

    But I was able to find some snapshots of your site here. Perhaps you can use that to copy your content over. Or, “Blog Vault” may be able to help you import to NAS.
