Starting over with multiple questions

    Part 1: I have a free blog that I’ve not used for a long time (since 2013). I’m considering upgrading it to a premium site, adding a static first page and starting the blog up again. Is this possible? Is it advisable? is it better/easier to start over from scratch?

    Part 2: I will use this new site to replace a WordPress.org site I have that hosts on Bluehost. That’s another round of questions. I am curious if I need Bluehost or if it’s easier to use WordPress.com?

    Please, I need answers to be relatively low-tech as I’m not as savvy about this as I need to be (even though I use it regularly for another site I write for)… I’m trying!

    Yes, it is possible to do that.

    Is it advisable? is it better/easier to start over from scratch?

    It depends on how much content you have to recreate to replace the old work. Some of WordPress.com is very different than it was in 2013. For that reason, if it’s close to being an even amount of work either way, I recommend learning the new block editor and starting over with that.

    If you are hosting a site on WordPress.com, you do not need bluehost. bluehost is an alternative service for hosting websites. I don’t think there is an objective answer to which service is easier to use.

    In my opinion there is more to consider if you are comparing a WordPress.org and WordPress.com implementation.

    The ease-of-use question is one your can answer for yourself by creating a free WordPress.com test site, and finding out how it works for you.
