Starting Over with New Theme

Is there a way for me to dump the current blog content completely, including the theme, and pick a new theme, starting all over again?
I am finding that my current theme selection is getting in the way of me even previewing other themes.

You can have Staff bulk delete all content, retain the URL and then chnage themes. I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.
Staff can empty the whole blog for you. That will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files and once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.
If you are sure you want Staff to proceed please reply to
(1) confirm the URL of the blog you want them to empty and
(2) ackowledge that you are aware that content deletion is irreversible.IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content does not remove it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months.

If you want to change themes on a free hosted WordPress.com blog you must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the blog and who is the Admin of the blog. Note that no content is ever lost when changing themes.
Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes
browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate”
or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appearsAfter you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

I just wish I could see the other templates without having to delete content (although there is not much there so it is really no biggie). I guess the former template and the ones that are now available are just too imcompatible.

Why don’t you register another blog for testing purposes like all the Volunteers do for testing and back-up use and make the visibility “private”.
