Starting Site??????
-
Hi I wanted to start a blog but it went onto creating a site, so I pressed “start site” and I got far until it came to the plans. When I searched up WordPress the definition was “WordPress is a free and open-source content management system written in PHP and paired with a MySQL or MariaDB database. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system, referred to within WordPress as Themes. “.I can’t get past the CHOOSE A PLAN bit without having to select one. Can you please give me a way or link to skip this in a way. I wanted to create a semi-community blog I didn’t want a full on professional website. So… Please help.
-Thank you.

Hello. Yes, WordPress.org is a open source software used to build sites, and it’s free. But that requires purchasing hosting with another provider, such as Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. and installing WordPress software on it. Is a way for you to do everything yourself like installing and building your own custom themes with PHP and CSS, instal plugins, etc.
The free site is from WordPress.com. When you clicked “Start Site”, it asked you to choose a plan after choosing a domain, but you can continue with the free site, right underneath “Choose a Plan” is writen “Pick one that’s right for you and unlock features that help you grow. Or start with a free site.” Click at Start with a free site.To know more about the diferences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, visit this page: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

Hi there,
I can’t get past the CHOOSE A PLAN bit without having to select one. Can you please give me a way or link to skip this in a way.
Make sure on the domains step you select the free example.wordpress.com address. Then you’ll be able to select the free plan on the plans step.
If you select a custom domain option on the domains page, you will be required to also buy a paid plan.
