Starting Site without domain

  Hi – I currently have a website with squarespace. I am interested in trying out wordpress and hopefully transfering over at some point. However I would like to be able to design a site and make sure its all set before taking down my other site/transferring the domain. How can I do that?

  Hi atsather,

  You can start your site here and use a free WordPress.com URL. It will look like this:

  http://www.yournameorsite.wordpress.com

  You can build your site and then transfer or point your domain to your WordPress.com site when you’re ready!

  Hi there,

  When you begin to create a site on WordPress.com, it is set to private by default – therefore, you can develop your site to your liking before launching it to the public. Once it is to your satisfaction, then you can transfer the domain over to us, and then officially launch the site without having any downtime during the transition.
