Starting to blog

I’ve spent about 8 hours trying to set up a blog. I’ve got two posts made, and I’ve been trying to make the site look nice. I’ve been trying to follow the guidance, but often I don’t find tools where the guidance says they’ll be. I’ve just inadvertently changed my theme and seemingly lost everything. Nowhere does there seem to be a guide that says what things are. What’s a widget, for goodness sake? I thought I was reasonably computer-literate, but I’m getting nowhere fast. Where is the help facility?

The authors have deleted this site.”That was a bit drastic. You won’t be able to use that address again in the near future if you decide to start again at WordPress.com. WordPress is a learning curve but help is usually found in the forums if you can’t find it in the help files online. The great thing about a blog is that you can experiment and delete posts/pages/widgets/themes you’re not happy with and try again. But deleting the address is permanent.
