Add topic to favorites
Hi there, I am completely new to blogging and wordpress and intend to create a blog on all things India (i go there a lot) with a heavy emphasis on travel, interiors, and food and finally the photographic beauty of the country. Would there be a suggested theme? Is a theme that works best for travel based blogs? I look forward to any help on this as I dont want to start and then think I have to do it all over again. Lastly since this blog might well be worthwhile to alot of corporates here is it best to use WordPress.org, or is the .com version OK, or shall i just start with .com and then move onto .org as and when. Look forward to hearing from you, Cheers and cant wait!!!

Yes, there are travel blog themes. All themes that can be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

Ok, many thanks for this, and I am aware that I can go to all these links but I was just trying to source any particular viewpoints/experinces form existing alike blogs. Do you know of any travel blogs on .com?

Also is there a publication/book which you would recomend to read-is there a physical wordpress manual?

There is no physical manual. The support documents online are continuously updated as is the software which makes WordPress.com work. Printed manuals would quickly be out of date. Here is a link to Support:

Please use the search box in the Themes Showcase and you will discover 20 travel themes. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/subjects/travel/

There is no publication I recommend because no sooner than they are published than changes are made and they are out of date. Use the tutorial Staff have provide at http://learn.wordpress.com

substitute “travel” for other topics. two-word topics need a “-” not a space
