starting up

Hi,
We are wanting to setup an ordering portal for our clients. Each client will have their own store with their own products.
We are struggling to start – we would like the domain to start with orders.xxxxxxx.com.au but this is not supported with wordpress (says the start up page)Can you help us to get started?

To do something like this will require a site with an ecommerce plugin, and then one that allows a multi-vendor marketplace.
You can, for example, do this with WooCommerce and their Product Vendors plugin:

These plugins can be used on WordPress.com with our Business and eCommerce plans. You can contact WooCommerce support directly if you have more questions about how their plugins work.

We don’t sell .com.au domains, but if you register a .com.au domain somewhere else you can most definitely map that domain, or a subdomain like orders. to your WordPress.com site. Domain mapping is included for free in all our paid plans.
