starting wordpress. help!

  okay, Do I need to have my own website to run wordpress/comicpress?
  I really have no idea where to start with this.

  ComicPress will not work here at wordpress.COM. You need to go self-hosted to be able to use it. Register a domain name, hire a web host, install the software on the web host, configure it and such.

  Self-hosted blogs are supported at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ . I would also look around over at comicpress for more information on what is required.
