Stat graph cuts off last the last three days

  • Unknown's avatar

    Does anyone else have an issue with their stat’s graph cutting off the last three days of info? I’m guessing perhaps a “width =” tag is needed? This issue began with the new dashboard update, and occurs both on the large graph, as well as the accompanying small one on the dashboard page.. (Bottom line, I have no idea what has happened over the past three days, until that third day passes…)

    I couldn’t find anyone else mentioning it in forums….

    I am not sure what you are meaning. Is there a way you could post a picture?

    I have the same situation. It almost looks as though the entire stats graph is pushed over to the right — as in there’s a lot of white space preceding the graph — and the far right edge of it has been chopped off. Today is the 12th GMT-wise, and I can see the bullet signifying the pageviews for the 9th, and then there’s a tiny bit of the blue line heading to the right, but it’s abruptly cut off. It was fine earlier in the day. I logged off and cleared my cache, to no avail. Sorry, not hip to the posting the picture thing…

    It could be related to a particular browser or browser/operating system. I’m using Safari 3 and FF 3 on Mac 10.5.x and have no problems with either of them.

    What browser(and version)/operating system are you using?

    I’m using Mac 10.4.6, and FF 3.0.4.

    Hate to go off-topic, but I also just realized I’ve got that common issue with the right-hand sidebar sliding all the way to the bottom. I’ve read through the FAQs and, as a first step, just deleted the three images I added to my most recent post. That made no difference. I admit to some cutting and pasting in the post, but used TextEdit so as to avoid the MS Word trauma. Is it possible that I’ve done something that has affected the widths of things – both on my visible blog and also on my dashboard page? Thanks, @thesacredpath

    The image at the top of your sidebar is too wide for one thing and that could be causing the issue. Textedit isn’t a problem as long as you use it in plain text mode rather than rich text mode.

    You can try removing the top text widget with the image in it and see if that fixes it.

    With FF 3.0.4 on 10.5.5 and with Safari 3.2.1 your sidebar is in the right place.

    Hmmm, if you mean the picture of me, it’s been there without problems since last March. Any ideas how that could occur,seemingly spontaneously? I just did the drill whereby I temporarily changed the Reading/Setting to “Show at most to 1 post”, and the problem seemed to occur regardless of the post. So, it would stand to reason that the sidebar widget could be the culprit. I’ll go check it out. BTW, if the sidebar is in the right place when you view it, how did you determine that the image at the top of the sidebar is too wide?

    It could be that some of the changes in the updated wordpress files made things more sensitive. Try removing the text widget with your image (copy the content of the widget out and into textedit before you do) and see if that fixes the problem. W3C is reporting other errors as well, but they aren’t the type of error that would cause the sidebar to move down.

    It appeared the image was cut off on the right, so I grabbed it like I was going to drag it to my desktop and then I could see the rest of the image.

    @thesacredpath,

    I just did that, and there was no change, so I copied everything back into the widget the way it was.

    Should we move this over to a new thread with an appropriate title, to see if others are experiencing anything similar? I’m not sure of that protocol.

    This problem only showed up tonight, hours after I had completed a new post. So far, I removed all images from the new post, retyped any text I had brought over from textedit, identified that it was probably a sidebar issue and not a post issue, and tried removing the sidebar image that you identified as suspect. Hmmmmm….any thoughts on what might be my next step? Thanks for all your help…

    @thesacredpath,

    Yes, I see what you mean. I recall resizing the photo way back when, so it wasn’t too large (pixel-wise)for the sidebar, and then the system just did its magic, made it fit, and I was fine with the cropping. Unfortunately, I lost my photoshop capability with my recent hard drive replacement, but I remember the FAQ re: resizing too-large images listed some free software options. Any recommendations?

    I use PhotoShop and I’m not familiar with any mac freebies, but if you google for “free mac image editing” or something similar I’m sure there is something out there. Actually, iPhoto can crop and resize I’m pretty sure and it should be on your Mac now. When you resize the image or crop it, make sure and “export” it to your desktop. Some versions of iPhoto did something strange to iPhoto images and WordPress would not recognize them.

    Boy, you are one busy guy tonight! I’ll check out iPhoto and see what I get. Thanks so much!

    @thesacredpath,

    Ummm, actually I don’t have iPhoto on this machine.* grrrr * I think I’ll set this aside until the next sunrise. Thanks again…

    Hello. I’m having the same problem with my stats – everything is just shoved over to the right and cutting off the last 2 – 3 days. I’m running Firefox in Vista, though I did try it in IE, and it seems to be OK, though still squished to the right.

    I’m going to try a screen capture, but, like niwotcentral, I’m not really sure I know how to put a picture here, but here you go. I hope.
