statcounter
-
I tried using statcounter by adding it to a text widget.. at first I thought it worked, but then it doesn’t seem to track visitors. I contacted them and they said that it doesn’t seem that the widget is on every page I wanted to track..
I thought that could be either: the Visibility option for the text widget: I wonder if Statcounter isn’t working because I set it to Hidden on the pages?
Or, In the wordpress theme I chose, there’s also a template option to set the page to Full width, no sidebar, which removes the sidebar from page.. does the counter have to show on the page in order for it to work?
Thanks in advance for the help!

It’s not possible to insert the third party tracking code into metadata on every page in any WordPress.COM hosted blog.

You’ve got the wrong code. We cannot use any JavaScript code on WordPress.COM blogs for security reasons. You must create a new statcounter project, choosing the “HTML only” counter and place it in the text widget.

Thanks, timethief.
The code I pasted was the html version, and it also specifically said it’s for wordpress.com on the Statcounter’s site. I don’t know what could be wrong..
