Statcounter code – not working as a text widget
-
I previously had Statcounter code entered as a text widget on my wordpress site. It was working fine, until I accidentally deleted it. When I tried to reinstate it WordPress kept on stripping out the code.
Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry, but that embed code will not work because we remove JavaScript, Flash, iframe, form, and input tags for security reasons.

Thanks for the quick reply – is there any other way of placing Statcounter on our site (or indeed any custom HTML code)? We do not have the premium version of WordPress, just the basic one.

You can use our blog stats widget instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/blog-stats-widget/
There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

Many outside stats have a plain html code version available – in some cases it is easy to find as an option in other cases you need to ask polite like for the code
