Static

I have an article I want to post to a static page. In fact I want to use that page for many of my posts. But I can’t seem to remember how to publish my post to that page. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

In a blog thete is only one running page for all your posts. Setting aside Archives & Categories pages which are auto-updated after we publish a post that is usually the front page in a conventionally structured blog.Static pages cannot be automatically updated. So strictly speaking we cannot post to a static page. You can change the running page for posts to another static page but I’m almost 100% sure you do not want to do that because doing so comes with consequences.
Here’s the spot > Dashboard > Settings > Reading
Here’s what you find there:Front page displays
___Your latest posts
___ A static page (select below)
* Front page:
* Posts page:Changing this will mean that all of your posts will be gone from the front page. I urge you to read what the consequences are > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/is-it-possible-to-have-page-links-within-a-page?replies=33#post-434684

TT, what I did was edit the static page I created and posted to it that way. Will I be able
to add more posts to using that method. Actually I like you to take a look at it, I think you’ll be surprised ;) -
Why are you doing this? Pages have next zip for Google juice. The URLs do not contain dates. They cannot have categories and tags assigned to them. They are not good search engine fodder.
Posts have tons of Google juice. Posts have dates in the URL. Posts can have Categories and Tags assigned to them. Posts on the front page of a blog are the place where the search engine spiders boogie – they expect to find content there and tey are all over it.
I am tired and I am hungry so let me put this another way. Blogging is competitive and if were a nasty ass person, who had a competitor that I wanted to cut off at the knees, then I would advise that person to create a page structured mock website, rather than a post structured blog.
Don’t do this!

Done! I’ll take it down. Are you looking out for my best interests? I’m a little confused.

If what you’re interested in is just having a header tab that links to those posts, you can publish them as regular posts filed under a category of their own, copy the category URL and use it as shown here:

I’m not telling you to take whatever you had up down. I know you are new to blogging so I wanted you to have the full information so you understood the differences between static pages and posts.

TT, I took it down, I thought you were trying to tell me it was bad for my blog. TT, I’m really trying to do the right thing. I don’t know if I’m p-ing you off or if your annoyed with me, or whatever, but I’m trying to be a good blogger, I know I way more than a lot to learn.

What you propose will work. You can keep editing a static page and manually adding more and more “entries” to it. The entries will have no separate URLs, no categories, no tags and very little Google juice. All the comments received to the page will be a single long scroll not separated by entries because the entries can’t be separated. -
@TiTi, the thing I worry about is not wanting to do anything on the blog that would be detrimental to the niche, or to my standing with my readers. I’ve felt in the past few days
that I wanted to share some personal stories, and I’m just to exhausted right now to put my efforts into starting a second blog. I posted a new thread in “questions” about how I could do this without damaging any future reputation I may or may not have, and how it would affect my blog. Thanks! -
I answered you in the other thread. I’m all in and all done on the contrast between Pages and Posts.

Yes! You created a new blog and I am doing a happy dance because I just visited and left a comment – way to go!
