Static Front Page – Theme: Pique

I am using the theme Pique, and was trying to set up a static front page following the instructions on its theme page: https://wordpress.com/themes/pique/

    It told me to:
1.Publish two pages – one to act as your Front page, and another for your Posts, if you would like to add a blog to your site.
2.Navigate to Customize → Static Front Page and set “Front page displays” to “A static page.”
3.Select one of the pages you created in step one to display as the “Front page,” and choose the second page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts (if applicable).

When I add a page as the “Posts page”, my blog goes back to looking like as a normal blog with posts as if I hadn’t selected the static front page setting in the first place.

Can someone help me with this please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you say it goes back to a normal blog, is that after you change the “Posts page” in the customizer? It will display the last page selected, which would be your posts page in this case.

Have you tried clicking Save & Publish and then viewing your site, even though it looks like it didn’t make any difference in the customizer?

Yes, it goes back to looking like a normal blog after I add a page to the “Posts page” dropdown menu. Once I do that, the customiser also removes the ability to add panels under “Theme Options”.

    Hi @shloakaggarwal,

I can see that the Your latest posts option is currently checked under the Customizer’s Static Front Page panel. Could you please navigate back to that panel and check the box next to A static page? Save & publish your changes immediately after checking that box.

Let me know how that goes or if you’re still experiencing trouble after that.

I’m not sure why your previous changes didn’t save correctly. Did you choose the option to Save & publish immediately after making them or did you navigate around the Customizer first?

I’ll be happy to help troubleshoot this issue with you further.

    Hi @eyesonsocial,

I’ve answered your question on your separate thread:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/pique-template

Let’s keep discussion over there to avoid any confusion/repetition between the two threads. :)
