Static Front Page Help

I have been trying for hours to get this working, what I would like is to have the main front page the “Home” page of my blog, the home section seems to be a part of the theme, and not set up. Its part of the template.

Now what I want to do is have the front page, when the user types in my URL, for it to land on the Home page, with it already selected. and then for the static page to be a post. I am sure this is possible, its just this theme that is confusing me. I am a newbie to WP, so have no idea where to go next.

I seem to be able to create a “Home” page myself, and then have the front static page set to that, but the posts still change, and there is a second “home” in the nav bar, which seems to be the one that the template has built it, but cant change in the WP admin.

It’s also confusing to explain, hope its good enough…

    Thanks for advance,

    Nizmo

First, we need a link to your wordpress.COM blog. And consider linking it in your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums.

Second – if you are hosted here, have you read the FAQ on static front pages? http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/having-a-static-page-at-the-front-of-the-blog/
