Static front page not working in Widely theme?
-
I have configured my front page as a ‘static page’ on the Widely theme, with posts linked to run on a different page, under both Reading settings and customize. However, the posts continue to show up on my front page. I’ve been playing with it all day, deleting and re-making pages etc. I just want a static front page.
Thank you

Hello there! I see that you’ve managed to set the About page as your static front page. You’ve chosen a theme (Widely) that does include blog posts at the bottom of your front page, even if the top portion is static. See the Widely demo as an example:
http://widelydemo.wordpress.com/You have a couple options:
- You can choose a new theme, which is static-only, and never displays blog posts. I can help with this, if you like.
- You can add the Custom Design upgrade to your site and I can give you the CSS code which will hide the “latest news” blog posts-element from your front page. About Custom Design:

Let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks much!

Ah, I see.
Thank you for checking this out!
Is there a theme similar aesthetically to Widely?
Otherwise, is it possible to choose the posts that display on the front page? Currently a few image-only posts are showing on the front page as blank squares.. -
Hey again,
Widely only gives the option to display the most recent posts on that front page. Could you tell me what you like about Widely specifically, and I can suggest a few themes that have the same aesthetic qualities or features?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
