Static front page not working on mobile

    I’ve set a static front page as well as a “News” page for recent posts.

    The static front page works on desktop, but on any mobile version of the site, the front page becomes the recent posts page automatically.

    If I choose “view desktop version” on the mobile browser, this is fixed.

    So this is a problem with recognising the mobile site.

    Could somebody please advise on what is wrong?

    Speaking of mobile sites, I am also experiencing a significant difference in the theme layout between the mobile and desktop sites.

    My mobile site looks like this, as you can see it is much more different from my site.

    I managed to get it to look like the proper “Mobile” version of my website only by going to Android stock internet browser and clicking “view PC version”. For some reason this didn’t make it go to the full desktop theme, it went to the mobile theme of the desktop which is exactly what I want.

    That looks like this.

    Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

    Am thinking of migrating over to wordpress.org instead for more customizability
