Static front page post won't update
-
My static front page won’t update. I have cleared all browsing data and done a force refresh. Still no luck. When I edit the post and press update and preview it looks alright, but then when I go to the front page of my site where the post is seen, my changes are not on there. What is the problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok. So when I set my theme customization to display my latest posts instead of a static page, the post is seen correctly with my recent updates. But when I switch back to Static page setting my post reverts back to a much older version. I only have two posts created, and the other is much different FYI.

Ok. So I found the problem or rather my misunderstanding of how the system works. I thought that by editing the original post that was converted into a static page I would thusly be editing the static page. Not so. You have to go into the ‘pages’ section to make changes to your static page. Making the original post kinda useless. A little counter-intuitive.

Glad you were able to work this out. It is a little tricky setting this up, but the biggest idea is that Posts and Pages are handled separately by WordPress. One never really gets transferred into the other.
We have steps for setting up static front pages here:
But it sounds like you’ve got it covered now. :) Let me know if you have other questions.
