Hi Sunny!
This documentation will guide you through the process of setting up a static home page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
You also may want to look at some themes that display a blog grid like you’ve described.
These are the themes that use a grid layout: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/grid-layout/
I hope this helps and please let us know if you have any additional questions.

The “grid-layout” themes are fine, but none of them depends upon a static front page. In each case, the grid is displayed on the posts page (aka the blog page).
You might also want to consider themes with the Portfolio Page Template option for pages, where a page assigned to this template will display rows of image and title links to portfolio projects. A static front page may have this template assigned, but so may any other static pages. Such themes include the following:

Correction:
I was mistaken. Most of the theme identified as portfolio themes in the Portfolios support page are included in the grid-layout keyword filtered themes. It’s not clear to me why Blask and Argent have been omitted, though Argent is the lone case where there is no portfolio page template option.

Hi Sunny! Your blog is looking great – I love the grid layout! What theme does it use?
Hope you were able to configure your site the way you wanted to!
