Static Home Page

I feel like I have tried every possible way to make a static home page using the Sela Template and I cannot get the front page to change and look like the demo. Granted, I don’t have much/any content yet and this might be the reason. However, when I created the Home page it did not give me the front page template to choose from and I believe this might be the reason as well. Is there a secret to making the home page on Sela?

    Hello,

Here you can find a detailed description of the Sela theme – scroll down a bit to find a detailed guide on how to “Set up a static front page with the Front Page Template” (including the steps to take if you would like to copy the look of the site demo):

    I hope it helps.

When I do the step that includes the templates drop down menu I do not see Front Page. I also don’t see page options. I see page attributes.

    Hello,

Perhaps I am wrong but I just opened your blog and can see two Posts in two Categories but can not see published Pages. The first step in the Sela tutorial says

Publish two pages and give them titles that are easy to remember, like Home and Blog. To publish a page, navigate to My Site → Pages → Add Page.

Here you can find more info on Posts and Pages:
    support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page

The templates dropdown menu should be under the Page Attributes.

Does it help you to get closer to the solution? Let me know!

    Cheers,
    Gina

yes that is under a site that I am no longer working on. I figured it out though for my other site. It was translated in Spanish for some reason under portada. “Thank you Google Translator!”

I’m happy to hear you figured it out and thanks for the help, Google Translate! :)
