Static Home Page

    Hi

I am trying to keep my home page as it is and I want to have several blogs within the site so when I update information it sends out emails to followers of my site.

I don’t want the blogs to appear on home page just remain in the areas I create them eg I created SU Spring Open 2017 page, but I wanted this a a blog so it could notify followers I have added or updated this?

    thanks.

  • If you want your homepage to remain the same and not change, you could turn it into a page instead of a post, like it is now. To do that, create a new page called Home or whatever you like, and another called Blog or News. Go into your Customizer‘s Static Front Page panel as the posts page, and your Blog page as the posts page.

More on setting up a static homepage:

    Set the Homepage

Each WordPress site has only one “blog.” You can let people sign up for the blog by adding the Subscription widget to one of your widget areas. There isn’t a way to set up subscriptions for only specific posts.

You can assign your posts to different categories, however, and link to those different categories from your menu. Folks who subscribe to your blog would get an update every time you added a post, no matter what category it was in, but people visiting your site could visit a specific category to read posts in that group all on one page.

Let me know how it goes.
